2017-18 EPL title betting: Can Manchester City or Man Utd take the EPL trophy from Chelsea FC?

Manchester City have been made clear favorites to take the English Premier League title away from Chelsea in the 2017-18 season, their 2nd campaign under manager Pep Guardiola.

Man City were the original favorites last EPL term after Guardiola’s appointment and were sitting pretty good after winning their opening 6 matches, but their challenge ultimately fell away and they finished 15 points behind Chelsea in 3rd position.
Man City’s owners are splashing the cash to try and turn Guardiola’s team into one capable of conquering both England and Europe, the spending spree having begun with the £43.5million signing of Portuguese playmaker Bernardo Silva from AS Monaco and the £35million acquisition of Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson from Benfica Lisbon.

Chelsea, with 13 matches winning spree from October 2016 carried them clear at the top of the EPL table and on the way for the EPL title, are vying for 2nd favoritism with Manchester United.

Chelsea and Manchester Utd are sure to be big players in the transfer market up to the end of August, especially Man United who are desperate to compete for the EPL crown for the 1st time since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

Over the course of the last two EPL seasons, the most consistent team has been Tottenham. Spurs improved from a finishing position of 3rd to 2nd in 2016-17. But whether they can be as effective playing all their home matches at Wembley remains to be seen.

Liverpool squeezed into the top 4 last EPL term and the next step for them will be to launch a concerted EPL title bid under manager Jurgen Klopp for the 1st time, with the Reds’ return to the UEFA Champions League being an interesting factor in how their EPL campaign will develop.

Arsene Wenger has stayed at Arsenal by signing a new 2-year contract and Arsenal’s fans will be hoping that this is not another ‘groundhog day’ season for the Gunners – a promising start followed by a costly lapse of form and a laterally when EPL title chances have gone.

Everton was clearly best of the rest last EPL season, while Leicester City have reverted to being the outsiders after their astonishing EPL title triumph in 2015-16.
