Nadal Rafael v Anderson Kevin

Rafael Nadal looks to add a 16th Grand Slam title to when he takes on first-time major finalist Kevin Anderson in the 2017 U.S. Open final on Sunday in New York.
Nadal has had an excellent year with 49 Wins and 4 Losses and this is undisputed No 1 a clear favorite for this match. Nadal wasn’t in great form before the U.S. Open, suffering defeats with Denis Shapovalov and Nick Kyrgios in Montreal and Cincinnati and losing to Gilles Muller in the Round of 16 at Wimbledon 2017.

Rafael Nadal was beaten in straight sets by Sam Querrey in Acapulco and went down to an injury-plagued Milos Raonic in Brisbane, so his form on hard courts while getting some great results, wasn’t brilliant. Nadal didn't start this US Open tournament that well, dropping sets against Leonardo Mayer & Taro Daniel but then he came out like a champion crushing Alexandr Dolgopolov & Andrey Rublev and a great win over Juan Martín del Potro.
Nadal could win the title without having to face a player ranked in the top 25. Nadal has won all 4 previous meetings, 3 on Hardcourt 1 on clay. If his forehand works well, Nadal will win easily, if not, could be a struggle and go to 4-5 sets.

Kevin Anderson, currently ranked No. 32 in the ATP rankings, is the lowest-ranked finalist at the U.S. Open since the start of the rankings in 1973 and he is the first South African to make a Grand Slam final since Kevin Curren at the 1984 Australian Open.

Kevin Anderson made his first Grand Slam quarter-final at the U.S. Open in 2015  and made the top 10 soon after, but multiple injuries kept him out for most of the last year. Kevin Anderson will get another opportunity as he’ll return to No. 15 when the new rankings are released on Monday and to No. 10 if he can win the title. Things started improving this year reaching the Citi Open final in Washington D.C, the quarter-finals at the Montreal Masters and the Last 16 at Wimbledon 2018.

Kevin Anderson at the U.S. Open beat Juan Cruz Aragone, Ernests Gulbis, Borna Coric, Paolo Lorenzi, Sam Querrey and Pablo Carreno Busta on his way to the US Open final. Kevin Anderson was on the edge of going down 2 sets to Pablo Carreño Busta in the US Open semi-finals, but Anderson managed to break serve in the 2nd set, which changed the whole course of the match as he ultimately ran away with a 4-6 7-5 6-3 6-4 victory.

Kevin Anderson will be trusting his serve gives him lots of points but it is difficult to see anything other than a Rafael Nadal victory.

Rafael Nadal to crush Anderson and get his 16th Grand Slam.

Betting Odds:

Rafael Nadal @ 1.12 vs Kevin Anderson @ 5.93
